The Guest of Honour, His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zambia, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema and the Zambian people welcome you All to Zambia and to this Summit.
On the Health Front, the Guest of Honour is the WHO Global Cholera Control Champion, he was also a Champion for Covid 19 Vaccination which resulted in Zambia attaining 70% vaccination of the eligible population. And lastly but not the least, he made the Lusaka Call to Action, encouraging all African Countries to strengthen Public Health Epidemic preparedness.
The Guest of Honour has always emphasised the fact that “No Country can solve its health problems working in isolation, but together we shall succeed.”
It is Zambia’s desire that by hosting this Summit on Substance Use, Children, Youth and Women will be protected from these vices and also that those in Addiction will find Treatment, Counselling and Rehabilitation Services.
